Our steering committee, or less officially, our core group and what they do is:




  Sonja Blaney:
Food sorting, bagging, staging, volunteer   coordination, inventory control and stock rotation, room set-up and break-down, works with outside groups to coordinate food donations and drives with Angel. Sonja has a special skill in keeping volunteers busy and well coordinated.



Barbara Mennard: Food sorting, staging and bagging,
room/table set-up and break down, volunteer coordination and our historian and sounding board on policy issues. Barbara and Angel Morrison develop the bag "ingredient list" according to available inventory. Barbara has been a long time fixture of the food bank whose service has spanned many years and many directors.


Angel Morrison:
 Food sorting, bagging, staging, stock rotation, room set-up and break-down, contact organizations for food drives/ donation and  pick-ups in the community, help clients,  follow through with organizations for donations, deliver to shut-ins and maintain the shut-in list, pass on info about the food pantry to anyone that asks’, help where ever needed organize and rotate stock as well as inventory control, Michelle meets with emergency clients on an as needed basis.

David Petrovick: Director. Finances and budgeting, fund raising, community relations, press release/community relations, shopping and coordination with area farms and businesses for fresh/perishable food purchases, trouble shooting, service of shut-ins, emergency requests, monthly and annual report filing with the Worcester County Food Bank and the Congregational Church. Strategic planning and policies. Officially represents the food bank to civic, church and businesses and to state and federal agencies.


Chuck Radlo: Shopping, inventory control and rotation, communications/newsletter, food pick ups at drop-off locations, truck unloading, bag carrying and food sorting.

 



Venerable Man Shing, Diane Champigny and Nan Petrovick: Our check-in people who make sure we keep track of who comes to use the food bank and for certification/recertification of eligibility (January of every year) and to compile our report that the director makes to the Worcester County Food Bank.


Mary Beschta, Cindy Jenkins: Purchase and pre-package eggs for distribution and runthe produce tables.

Herb Holmes, Bob and his son Mike along with Dede Charlton and many others join in to lend a hand wherever needed and to work on our food tables on distribution day and carry bags for our clients.

Richard Barcca shops with Chuck Radlo and unloads at the church as well as carry bags for our clients and helps wherever he may be needed.

The Barre Food Pantry is located at the Barre Congregational Church on Park Street.
